Shelby Ear, Nose, and Throat Associates, P.C.
James Lee Masdon, MD
Dr. Masdon joined Shelby Ear, Nose, and Throat Associates in 2004. After graduating Magna Cum
Laude from the University of Alabama, Dr. Masdon attended the University of Alabama in Birmingham
(UAB) Medical School. Dr. Masdon graduated Magna Cum Laude from Medical School at UAB, where he
was a member of the National Honor Society, Alpha Omega Alpa, and received the Merit Scholarship
and Scholastic Excellence Award. Dr. Masdon currently sits on the Telehealth Committee (AAO-T-TNS)
and previously sat on the Admissions Committee for UAB Otolaryngology Residency. Dr. Masdon has
participated in several clinical trials during his time at UAB and published several articles.
Dr. Masdon is currently a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery,
Triological Society, American Association of Facial Plastic Surgery, and American Academy of
Otolaryngic Allergy.
David James Halvorson, M.D.
Dr. Halvorson has been participating in clinical trials with Clinical Research Consultants, Inc.
for several years. Dr. Halvorson is a graduate of the Baylor College of Medicine and finished
his Residency at the Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Halvorson currently holds a medical license
in the States of Alabama, Georgia, and Texas. While a Resident, Dr. Halvorson won the Physician
in Training Competition Award for Section of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at the Southern
Medical Association's 86th Annual Scientific Meeting, and Outstanding Resident Presentation at
the Greater Atlanata Otolaryngology Association. Dr. Halvorson was also recognized as an Outstanding
Student of Otolaryngology while in Medical School at Baylor. Dr. Halvorson currently holds affiliations
with the American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery, The American Laryngological,
Rhinological Society, the American Academy of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, and the
American Rhinologic Society. Dr. Halvorson is also an Associate Fellow of the American College of
Surgeons and an Honorary member of the Peruvain Society of Otolaryngology and Facial Cosmetic Surgery.
